Dinosaur Adventures – Review

Dinosaur Adventures Melbourne

I love it when I can report back on a kid friendly adventure that is a resounding success. Dinosaur Adventures, an attraction that was recently in Sydney and has just opened in Melbourne ticked a whole lot of boxes for our family.  Open until July 20th and located undercover at the Caufield Racecourse are a host of giant dinosaurs, brought to life by high tech robotics.

Educational content:  Box ticked.  As well as the lived experience of being next to a moving, life sized dinosaur, there was “story time”.  At a makeshift campsite there is a performer yarning about dinosaurs ensuring we all learnt something (I didn’t realize that some dinosaurs had feathers)  He also tours the site introducing visitors the the individual dinosaurs represented.

Fun Factor:  Box ticked.  A number of inflatable dinosaur play areas and jumping castles are on site meaning our kids had a heap of physical play time while visiting Dinosaur Adventures.

Tips to making the most of your visit to Dinosaur Adventures: Dinosaur Adventures is a loud and highly stimulating environment – so some young children may potentially be scared.  Our own, aged 6, 3 and 14 weeks loved it and weren’t at all intimidated by the noise or animatronic reptiles. Entry to the attraction is sessional.  You will need to purchase your tickets online before you go.  Tickets are $27 per person and under threes are free. There are some queues initially however the crowds disperse as the sessions continues so don’t waste time in lines – just wait for the crowds to leave.
