Melbourne – The Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition Giveaway.

Narnia Exhibit and the Docklands Melbourne

Narnia Exhibit at the Docklands Melbourne

My favourite childhood book was The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.  Its fantasy setting and narrative that incorporates beautiful themes of forgiveness and redemption struck a chord.  I must have read it fifteen times at least.  I am currently introducing my sons to the world of Narnia, reading them the original C.S Lewis book as well as a picture book illustrated with stills from the Disney movie.  They are not quite old enough to view the battle scenes in the Disney motion picture.

All of us are eagerly anticipating visiting the the Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition that is currently open at the Docklands in Melbourne.  The Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition will bring us face to face with replicas of the mythical creatures of Narnia such as fauns, centaurs and Aslan the lion, as depicted in the motion picture by Walt Disney studios.  Interactive aspects of the exhibit include a replica of the White Witch’s throne where visitors can sit and feel the chill of the icy throne.  There is also an interactive frozen waterfall, icy to the touch, with a display on the science behind why water freezes.  It sounds like an amazing way to engage further with the story and is a prelude I hope to us reading the entire Narnia collection as a family.

We are spending the holiday period in Melbourne and the Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition is on our definite to do list.  Thanks to Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media, the organisers of the exhibition one reader will win a family pass (four tickets) to visit the Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition in Melbourne on December 28th.  To be in the running to win the family pass simply add a comment to this blog telling me which is your favorite Narnia story and why.  Entries close on December 20th.

If you haven’t joined Bubs on the Move of Facebook yet, you may want to do that to keep in the loop regarding other competitions (and we are having a run of them at the moment!). Also, remember to look out for my account of our own visit to the Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition early in the New Year.

  1. My favorite Narnia book would definitely have to be Prince Caspian: The Return To Narnia. The book is just so much more action packed than the other and has a lot of deep characters and exciting battles.

  2. My parents used to have a massive wardrobe. After reading the first book when I was quite young I started climbing into it from time to time and trying to find the secret door in the back. Never found it. My Narnia was just a mound of shoes and belts which is a bit dull. Scared the hell out of my mum when she opened the cupboard though.

  3. My fav is The Silver Chair is my fav, esp the part where Aslan bring the Caspian back to life to sort out all the bullies, would love to introduce my kids when they are a little older, such great stories 🙂

  4. My favourite is Prince Caspian. Not only is it a wonderful tale but it’s the first Narnia movie I ever saw at the cinema (and the first movie I watched after my first baby was born) and it was the book that I had just finished before I had my second daughter.
