We are a family of five that loves discovering new places – at least the parents do, so we look for places that will engage the kids too. This may mean places that are beautiful, where they learn something, or that are just plain fun. Sometimes we get really lucky and go somewhere, or meet someone that will make us better people/parents/kids.
As well as discovering new places, my work as a public health doctor has taken us far away from family and friends. Being willing and able to travel with my boys has allowed us to overcome the tyranny of distance and spend time with our loved ones, and there isn’t anything more precious than that.
I hope that by sharing my practical experience as a mum traveling with small children, and my professional experience as a doctor, I will assist some of you in healthier, happier travels.
As a dedicated local explorer am also using this blog to share our experiences as we discover the world close to home, initially beautiful North Queensland, and our new home in Melbourne Victoria.
This is a personal blog although I am beginning to accept some paid advertising if it is relevant to my readers. I also host giveaways of products that benefit my readers and occasionally am given free entrance to attractions that I plan to feature on the blog. Any freebies or sponsored posts will be disclosed so that you can trust my motivation for writing a post.
I also do some freelance writing. I have contributed to the “Family Doctor” section of Webchild and have written for Escape Magazine, Every Child and the Cairns Parenting Companion.
Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a media kit, tell me about something you think my readers would like to know or to give feedback on the site.
